Ditching mng support?

Hi,
Is anyone strongly opposed to dropping "out-of-the-box" mng image
support for Qt 5?
The plugin and library copy could still be maintained somewhere, just
not in qtbase.

There hasn't been a libmng release in four years, and the bugtracker
linked to from http://www.libmng.com/contact.html doesn't exist.

Regards,
Kent

Moving it out of qtbase is IMO the right thing to do. libmng is not really
maintained anymore, and I don't think a whole lot of people are still
using the format.

Cheers,
Lars

But talking about that, KDE supplies a few extra imageformats. Some might be
of interest too.

Maybe an add-on module for image plugins?

Cheers,

Putting the KDE ones into Qt is probably not a runner for licence reasons,
but if a place was made in the KDE frameworks 5 repo for these things, Nokia
could put the mng plugin there.

I've created https://bugreports.qt.nokia.com/browse/QTBUG-21869 for
moving it out.

Kent
